Welcome!

IAU’s Westminster Satellite campus (IAUWM) is located in the heart of “Little Saigon” in Orange County, California.

For business students, Little Saigon presents incredible opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

For culture, the Flower Festival takes over plazas to prepare for the Lunar New Year (late Jan/early Feb), or Tet. This event culminates in the annual Tet Parade, complete with floats, marching bands, entertainment and youth groups, and a fun-loving crowd. Then, as summer swings around, the annual Night Market opens at the Asian Garden Mall offering incredible food, entertainment, and shopping in a festival environment.

For recreation, IAWM is conveniently located in the heart of Orange County, close to everyone’s favorite attractions, like Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, and the beach.

Housing
Recognized School Organizations (RSOs)
Public Libraries

The University does not have dormitory facilities under its control. Housing is the responsibility of the student. There are many apartments for rent within a 1 to 10 mile radius. Many are within walking distance. Single bedroom apartments may cost $900 to $2,100 per month or more. Many families have rooms for rent from $600 to $800 per month.

For F-1 international students who wish to find housing near IAU, International Student Services (ISS) can assist you with locating a local American homestay or assist you in finding an appropriate place to live ([email protected]).

ISS also provides information about the local neighborhoods, including popular restaurants, shopping areas, parks and recreation, and public transportation.

A homestay is a unique opportunity for international students to live with a local American host family. In addition to providing an affordable private room with an option of two meals per day or access to the kitchen, the program gives students a chance to experience American culture from a first-hand perspective and build cross-cultural friendships. To learn more, please see SRS homestay flyer.

What can I expect from my Host?

You can expect your homestay host to be kind, show care for you, interact with you, provide guidance, and help you improve your conversational English speaking skills through practice. You are usually provided meals. Frequency may vary. Your room will be furnished, have good lighting, and have an area for you to study or prepare for your day.

At International American University (IAU), student leadership development is a cornerstone in supporting its students to become engaged citizens.  One of the primary means of student involvement is through Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs). RSOs at IAU are also responsible for many of the programs and events held on campus each year including social events, lectures, special events, cultural events, and conferences.
