Non-Matriculated students are individuals who enroll in individual courses without being admitted to a degree program. This option is suitable for those seeking to build specific skills, career advancement, explore academic areas, or prepare for future degree study.

Enrollment Process

How to Enroll

  1. Contact the Office of Admissions at [email protected] to inquire about registering for Non-Matriculated courses.
  2. Receive a link to the IAU Course Marketplace page.
  3. Select the desired course card on the Marketplace page.
  4. Select “Enroll Now” and complete Form 1: Non-Matriculated Enrollment Form.
  5. Submit full payment for the selected course(s).
  6. Receive an enrollment request confirmation email.
  7. Receive a follow-up email with next steps for enrollment completion. Click the hyperlink provided and complete Form 2: Non-Matriculated Enrollment Form for student record creation.
    1. Complete Form 2 only once as a new Non-Matriculated student.
    2. Skip Form 2 for future course enrollments or when registering for additional Non-Matriculated courses after the initial enrollment process has been completed.
  8. Receive an automated email confirming completion of Form 2 with a PDF copy of the submitted information, as well as a separate email confirming the forms are under review by the Office of Admissions.
  9. Receive an Official Enrollment Confirmation Email with an assigned student ID number and instructions on how to access course materials.

Are Non-Matriculated courses offered online or in person?

Non-Matriculated courses are currently offered in the following online modes of instruction:

Online Synchronous (OS): Live online classes held on scheduled days and times through video conferencing. Students attend class remotely and participate in real-time with the instructor and classmates.

Online Asynchronous (OA): Online courses that do not require live class meetings. Students access course materials, complete assignments, and participate in learning activities on their own schedules while meeting established deadlines.

You can identify the mode of instruction by looking at the Mode column on the Course Offered List. Eligible courses will be designated as OS (Online Synchronous) or OA (Online Asynchronous).

Is admission to IAU required to enroll?

No. Non-Matriculated students may enroll in individual courses without formal admission to a degree program.

When is payment required?

Payment must be completed in full prior to enrollment.

Will these courses apply toward a degree program?

Yes. Successfully completed Non-Matriculated courses may be eligible to be applied toward a degree program at IAU, subject to program requirements and approval at the time of admission.

Are courses open enrollment?

Courses begin every two months in alignment with IAU’s academic session start dates. Please refer to the Academic Calendar for specific start dates and admission deadlines.

Enrollment after a deadline may be deferred to the next available session, subject to course availability. Course offerings may vary by session and are not guaranteed every semester.

Non-Matriculated Status

Enrollment as a Non-Matriculated Student does not constitute admission to a degree program at IAU. Participation in individual courses does not guarantee admission to any IAU academic program.

Academic Credit and Transferability

Courses completed as a Non-Matriculated Student may carry academic credit; however, transferability or applicability toward future academic programs is not guaranteed and is subject to the policies of the receiving institution.

Course Availability

IAU reserves the right to modify, reschedule, cancel, or change course offerings, schedules, instructors, or delivery methods at its discretion.

Tuition and Fees

Students are responsible for all tuition and applicable fees. Payment must be completed prior to enrollment unless otherwise authorized.

Refund Policy

  • Students may request a refund if they withdraw and drop a course prior to the start of classes.
  • If a student does not complete or finalize their enrollment in a course, a refund will be issued.
  • Once classes have begun, no refunds will be issued. Enrollment is considered active once the course starts; non-attendance or lack of participation does not constitute withdrawal.
