New Program: Doctor of Management (DM)

New Program: Doctor of Management (DM)

IAU is pleased to announce the launch of a new 42-semester hour program, the Doctor of Management (DM). Like the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), the DM is a professional doctorate degree. However, instead of a focus on business administration and quantitative subject areas, the focus of the DM is on management. Earning a DM provides management professionals and business degree holders with the advanced skills in research, analysis, theory and practice needed to attain leadership positions in business, government, or education. The program creates an opportunity for the student to demonstrate application of the knowledge and skills gained in the course work portion of the program and to demonstrate the critical thinking and analytical skills required to successfully complete the Doctoral Project.

The DM has been approved by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) and the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS). The BPPE is a unit of the California Department of Consumer Affairs charged with regulation of private postsecondary educational institutions operating in the state of California, while TRACS is IAU’s institutional accreditor. IAU is pending certification of the DM from the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). Therefore, IAU is unable to enroll F-1 visa students to the program at this time, unfortunately.

IAU plans to enroll its inaugural class DM program in Summer Session 2, 2002. The same areas of concentration will be available for DM students that are available to MBA and DBA students, such as Business Analytics, Hospitality, Travel, & Tourism, Luxury Brand Management, or Management Information Systems. The program will be offered only in online mode of instruction until SEVP certification is complete.

For more information about the DM, please email [email protected].
