  1. Metrorail: This elevated train line runs from Kendall through South Miami, Coral Gables, and downtown Miami, among other areas. It operates from 5 a.m. to midnight daily. Students can purchase discounted transit passes, and the cost per trip is $2.25. To ride Metrorail, you will need a transit pass as the fare gates do not accept cash. 
  2. Metrobus: With a fare of $2.25 per trip, several bus routes operate 24 hours a day, providing extensive coverage across Miami-Dade County. See individual route schedules for hours of operations. EASY Card, EASY Ticket, and cash (no pennies) are all acceptable forms of payment.
  3. Miami Trolley: A free trolley service that operates around downtown Miami, Brickell, Overtown, and the UM Medical Campus
  4. Metromover: This is a free service operating from 5 a.m. to midnight daily, covering downtown Miami with several loops, including the Omni, Brickell, and Inner Loops.
  5. Tri-Rail: Offers rail service between Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. Students can receive a 50% discount on passes with proof of current school enrollment.
  6. Car sharing:  is a model of car rental where people rent cars for short periods of time, often by the hour. They are attractive to customers who make only occasional use of a vehicle, as well as others who would like occasional access to a vehicle of a different type than they use day-to-day and generally gas and insurance are included.

Miami-Dade County Transit: Provides a K-12 EASY Card for students, allowing them to ride Metrobus and Metrorail at half price. Preschoolers ride free.

College Discount Program: Full-time college students can purchase a discounted 1-Month College Mobile Pass for unlimited travel on Metrobus and Metrorail. A monthly Metrorail parking permit can also be purchased for $11.25
