The IAU Writing Center provides support for students working on course papers and independent writing projects. The center can help at any stage of the writing process, from brainstorming to final polishing.
Students prepare two to three drafts of an assignment, meeting in person or via email with the Writing Center Coordinator as they send versions of their paper back and forth until a final draft is ready.
Please email the Writing Center to make an appointment by emailing [email protected]. Drop-ins are also welcome, but priority is given to students who have made an online Writing Center appointment.Â
IAU has its own writing guide designed as a reference for beginning and continuing undergraduate and graduate students in preparing their academic papers.
The Writing Center office hours vary each semester and are subject to change without prior notice. In person meetings are by appointment only. Nevertheless, the IAU Writing Center is always available via email. A staff member can assist with comments or tracked changes and communicate with students via email. Please allow for a 24-48 hour response time.
If you have used the Writing Center, we invite you to complete a brief satisfaction survey so that we can improve our services to you. The responses are anonymous and the results are sent to the Writing Center supervisor.
Curfew is in effect 10:00 PM–6:00 AM in Downtown LA, Koreatown, and nearby areas.
