Established in 2000, L.A. Vocational Institute (LAVI) has a long history of providing quality, student-focused programs in allied health. LAVI is approved to offer short course programs in Phlebotomy Technician, Medical Assistant, EKG, Pharmacy Technician, and Physical Therapy Aid. LAVI is approved by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education and Certified by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) to issue M-1 visas.
Mr. Eduard Akopov, LAVI President, and Dr. Ryan Doan, IAU President, are enthusiastic to announce this exciting partnership will allow each institution to maximize its potential by sharing experience, resources, and campus space.
Dr. Doan comments, “This partnership marks a pivotal moment for IAU to expand into allied health with the help of LAVI to be able to educate and prepare students for jobs in an ever-growing field and graduate students who can contribute to the health and well-being of the local community. This aligns with IAU’s Christian mission.”
Additionally, there are plans to offer joint programs, allowing each institution to focus on its area of expertise to bring the synergy, working together to create something greater than either IAU or LAVI could do alone. For those who wish to enter into the growing health field, look for a joint program, such as an ASBA in Medical Assistant or a BBA in Medical Billing & Coding in the near future. Program Director, Ms. Vana Bashan, will be working closely with the academic teams on each side to spearhead these joint programs.
