On August 22, 2023, Dr. Tran Viet Anh, Vice Chairman of the University Council and Permanent Deputy Rector of Hung Vuong University, Ho Chi Minh City (DHV), embarked on a significant visit to the International American University (IAU) campuses in Los Angeles, California, and its two campuses in Irvine and San Diego, USA. Accredited by TRACS, a nationally recognized accrediting agency, IAU had secured its position as the second-ranking institution for management school in California in 2023, following UCLA’s Anderson School of Management as highlighted by the California Management School Ranking 2023 by the California Herald. This achievement was published in a 2023 Yahoo! Finance article.
The primary objective of this visit was to sign a memorandum of agreement to offer IAU’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree program full-time in Vietnam or under the frameworks of 2 + 2, 3 + 1, internships in the US with stipends, mutual credit recognition for credit transfer, top up from bachelor’s to master’s and doctoral degrees, as well as student and faculty exchanges. This partnership would provide an opportunity for DHV students, in particular, as well as Vietnamese students in general, to receive a U.S.-quality education within Vietnam at reasonable costs.
Notably, on the same day, IAU bestowed the title Honorary Professorship upon Dr. Tran Viet Anh as a gesture of respect and recognition for his pivotal role in building and developing the education system at DHV and fostering collaboration between the two institutions. This visit and the agreement signing mark a significant step forward in the relationship between DHV and IAU. This move signifies a crucial advancement in expanding DHV’s international presence and bringing forth enhanced educational and research opportunities for students on both sides
