International American University (IAU) and School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA) established a prominent partnership to educate leaders for the entertainment industry, especially K-pop. The institutions signed an MOU on March 28th, 2023 in Seoul, S. Korea, and it is the first step in building promising programs for the next generation. Part of the agreement includes establishing a branch campus in California and offering performing arts programs, such as dancing and singing. The new campus will be focused on developing K-pop and its culture for students from all over the world.
The signing ceremony was held in the conference room of SOPA, with the principal of SOPA, Hosung Lim, the CFO of IAU, Jay Chung, and more. Both institutions will have research projects and create opportunities for the students and employees to interact and strengthen their partnership. Many K-pop stars have graduated from SOPA, such as BTS, Jungkook, and Suzi. SOPA provides great curriculums for students pursuing academic achievements and artistic skills for the entertainment industry.
IAU is located in Los Angeles, with satellite campuses in San Diego, and Irvine, California, providing quality education for students majoring in accounting and business. IAU will create more opportunities for its students to explore and become global leaders for the creative industry through the partnership with SOPA. This partnership is expected to contribute to K-pop and cultural understanding in the world, especially between S. Korea and the United States.
