I published media articles in several newspapers in Bahrain.
In Jordan, I participated in government programs for small businesses. Biography
Although I have built an extensive career in business management and teaching, my journey didn’t begin in these fields. I started as a civil engineer, deeply immersed in the technicalities of construction and project management. This led me to pursue advanced degrees in business and information technology, ultimately earning a Doctor of Business Administration. With more than 20 years of experience, I have authored several books, such as 1000 Tips and Tools for Small Business Success and The Golden Rules of Practical Marketing, providing practical advice for entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Recently, I published my latest book, Mastering Life's Choices: The Pearl Model, which delves into the art of decision-making. The book provides practical tools and insights to help individuals navigate the complexities of daily decisions, drawing from both my academic background and real-world experience.
Teaching became a natural extension of my consulting work. Today, I teach business management and information technology courses. My passion lies in sharing the knowledge I’ve gained and guiding others toward success in their own ventures.
In addition to teaching and consulting, I am constantly exploring new opportunities, from developing real estate projects to public speaking engagements. Carlock, Mark, Ph.D., M.S., M.A.
Education
Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology; Alliant International University; Los Angeles, CA
M.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology; Alliant International University; Los Angeles, CA
M.A. in Psychology; Pepperdine University; Los Angeles, CA
B.A. in Psychology; California Polytechnic University; Pomona, CA
B.S. in Chemical Engineering; University of Southern California; Los Angeles, CA
Biography
George Benard Shaw famously proclaimed that “Those who can, do. Those who can’t teach.” With all due respect to Mr. Shaw, I believe that those who “do” are in a unique position and have a moral obligation to teach.
My work as an adjunct professor came late in my professional career after holding positions with both for-profit and non-profit organizations, within government agencies, and with private companies. My studies in chemical engineering at USC led to employment with California’s Air Resources Board where I spent the next 25 years in positions of increasing responsibility. My efforts to improve air quality afforded me the opportunity to travel across the country and the world to confer with domestic and foreign governments and citizens eager to learn from the challenges and successes experienced in California. Although I found the work fulfilling, I felt disconnected from my goal of improving the lives of Californians.
One day, while reading the Charles Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol”, I was deeply moved by the words of Jacob Marley. Appearing as a heavily ladened and despondent apparition to his business partner, Scrooge offered an intended compliment that Marley was always a “good man of business.” The spirit woefully replied, “Business?! Mankind was my business. The common welfare was my business; charity, mercy, forbearance, benevolence, were all my business.” To this end, and perhaps to escape Marley’s fate, I accepted a position with the Los County Department of Mental Health where I believed my master’s degree in psychology from Pepperdine University would be of most use. My desire to find a way to combine my passion for psychology with my years of management experience was the driving force behind pursuing an advanced degree and ultimately earning a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. Having “done”, as Shaw would say, it was now time for me to teach.
My approach to teaching is simple; the more interesting and relatable the subject matter, the more easily it is understood. It is my goal to ignite curiosity and a passion for learning within my students and encourage conversations on the topics at hand as opposed to delivering lectures just to test student’s ability to recall what’s been said.
At one point in all our lives we pushed our elders to the brink of hysteria by constantly asking “Why?” and if we considered the response to be incomplete or unsatisfactory, asking “Why?” again and again. I believe that too many of us have been conditioned to simply accept information presented to us as truth without understanding because questioning authority has been discouraged. Conversely, I strive to create an environment where it is alright to ask “Why?” again and have found that both students and their instructor tend to learn something in the process.

The Lord endows Professor Jean Cho with great passion for teaching leadership with the power of art.
Through teaching art and leadership at a church, at a school, and in the community after graduating in the APU leadership program, she learned the great value and dignity of students’ lives as well as her calling from God. Professor Cho states that the most rewarding aspect of teaching students is to see radical transformation in their lives:
- Positive attitudes and optimism of life are created.
- Students learn to discover their life mission and meaning of life. They come to believe in Creator, God the Father as the greatest Leader.
- Her teachings have strengthened relationships between her students and their families, established the love of their nation, and empowered them to yearn for global leadership.
Professor Cho believes organizational Leadership can be a vehicle of communication of the glorious gospel. Education provides students with great opportunity for success and life fulfillment. It changes life. She is deeply convinced that educating and equipping leaders is the best way to transform the lives of people. When she teaches students, she comes with a great desire to help students to find out their God-given gifts and self-esteem so that they would have clear-cut goals, vision, and a mission to fulfill their calling by the Lord.

Proctor, Andrea, M.A.
Education
M.A. in Communication; California State University, San Bernardino; San Bernardino, CA
B.A. in Communication; Brigham Young University; Provo, UT
Biography
My third-grade teacher, Mrs. Nelson, once wrote on my report card: "Andrea is an enthusiastic student, but sometimes her talking interrupts class."
This statement could not ring truer, as it’s the best way to describe me and my career destiny. From a young age, my intrinsic passions have been people and learning. This was reflected in my studies when I pursued a bachelor’s and master’s degree --in Communications. Shocking, I know.
From my master's program, I continued my quest for learning and working with people in higher education where I served as a career counselor, academic advisor, and adjunct professor. In the role of a professor, I taught my favorite subjects: people, culture, and, of course, Communications.
Surprise Mrs. Nelson, I became a teacher!
My life mantra is inspired by a Victor Frankl, a Holocaust concentration camp survivor. He stated, “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” He felt that wherever we go we can find our own happiness. If we find ourselves in a situation where we are not happy, we then have to change ourselves.
Lastly, if you ever have any ideas to improve my courses and if you have done something in the past that you have enjoyed in another course, please let me know! I love receiving insight from my students and implementing their ideas in the classroom.

B.S in Psychology; Arizona State University; Tempe, AZ
Biography
Everyone can find themselves grappling with one of the branches of organizational psychology, whether it is being an effective coach to maintain motivation, navigating changes, or distinguishing the metrics that yield the best results, similar to crafting the perfect chocolate chip cookie. In my current role as a Human Resources/Operations professional, I have encountered scenarios within each branch of the Industrial Organizational Psychology tree. From devising training plans and restructuring job roles to attracting top talent, the employee lifecycle holds significant importance to me.
I completed my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Arizona State University, where my excitement for knowledge was only the starting point. Subsequently, I furthered my education at Alliant International University, earning a Master of Arts in Organizational Psychology. Following my master's degree, I attained certification as a Certified Professional from the Society for Human Resource Management. Each educational endeavor has contributed significantly to my comprehension of organizational dynamics and strategies for achieving objectives.
From an early age, guiding and mentoring my peers and younger students has always been a passion of mine. However, when my fascination with Organizational Psychology surpassed my aspirations of becoming a teacher, I redirected my focus towards coaching managers and employees to establish strategic objectives aimed at enhancing product sales. Being a part of the IAU team has provided me with a unique opportunity to merge my passions into one cohesive endeavor.
My dedication to addressing organizational challenges akin to being a "doctor" for companies fueled my continuous quest to explore methods of creating more efficient, inclusive, and positive work environments where individuals spend over 2,080 hours annually. My aspiration in the classroom mirrors my professional goals: to cultivate a conducive learning environment by guiding and mentoring students, enabling them to leverage their understanding of organizational psychology to effect positive change.

Over five decades ago, a teenager unexpectedly left the fields of a rural town in South America and stepped onto a plane, for the first time, to Washington, DC. Not an unusual trip by most standards, but for this teenager, Juana, it was a catapult to the unknown, a life altering paradigm shift, but mainly it was a world of opportunities. This marked the beginning of Juana’s life to assimilate in a new country and become a college graduate, a path not walked by any of her family members. The path has been lengthy and full of obstacles, but primarily filled with rewards and amazing individuals who not only provided support for most of her achievements, but who have also been the rock to reach her goals.
