Our international students can be legally employed in the U.S. while completing their studies (on CPT – Curricular Practical Training) or upon graduating (Post-Completion OPT – Optional Practical Training).
Focus your recruiting efforts and get targeted results; post open job positions and collect student resumes online. Employer submissions are posted to IAU’s Job Openings page by our Career Services. Curricular Practical Training (CPT)
Not only do IAU students exceed academically, they also gain beneficial skills and experiences through Curricular Practical Training (CPT). CPT is legal work authorization that allows F-1 students to engage in employment at companies like yours. The F-1 student only needs to receive an employment offer letter from your company and have you help complete an Internship Application. Then, IAU will issue the proper work authorization (Form CPT I-20). The F-1 student completes the W-4 just like any standard employee. The process is quick and easy!
Post-Completion Optional Practical Training (OPT)
Upon graduating from IAU, our international students are eligible for a 12 to 36-month work authorization called the Optional Practical Training (OPT). The F-1 student only needs to receive an employment offer letter from your company, for a job related to their academic program. The F-1 student can be on a W-2 or 1099 tax filing status.
