IAU is a member of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and is a candidate for ACBSP accreditation of its business programs and for separate accreditation of its accounting program. ACBSP is a leading specialized accreditation body for business education. ACBSP’s global mission is to pursue a better tomorrow by advancing and recognizing excellence in business education through continuous improvement. ACBSP’s global vision is to see every business program of quality accredited and pursuing continuous improvement. ACBSP accredits business, accounting, and business-related programs at the associate, baccalaureate, master, and doctorate degree levels. Recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in 2001 and again in 2011, ACBSP was the first to offer specialized business accreditation at all degree levels and the first to offer certificate accreditation. ACBSP currently accredits business programs at more than 1,200 campuses in 60 countries.
IAU is currently listed on the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) database of institutions accredited by recognized U.S. accrediting organizations. TRACS is a CHEA-recognized accrediting organization. To be “recognized” means that the accreditors in the database have been reviewed by CHEA or U.S. Department of Education (USDE) and meet the quality standards of the respective organizations.

IAU is a member of the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) [15935 Forest Road, Forest, VA 24551; Telephone: 434.525.9539; e-mail: [email protected]] having been awarded Accredited Status as a Category IV institution by the TRACS Accreditation Commission on October 26, 2020; this status is effective for a period of five (5) years. As of July 12, 2021, IAU is recognized by the California State Approving Agency for Veterans Education (CSAAVE) and identified as eligible for the payment of education benefits associated with the GI Bill® by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). IAU’s approval to operate as a private postsecondary educational institution in the State of California is based on provisions of the California Private Postsecondary Education Act (CPPEA) of 2009, which was effective January 1, 2010. The Act is administered by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education. Approval to operate means compliance with state standards as set forth in this chapter. The Bureau does not endorse IAU’s programs nor does Bureau approval mean that IAU exceeds minimum standards. IAU is currently Approved by the BPPE.

In March 2009 IAU received SEVP Certification. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) delegated the school certification process to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and ICE assigned this responsibility to its SEVP. SEVP Certification allows institutions to issue Forms I-20, “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status,” to prospective international students after admitting them for a course of study.

The Australian Government Department of Education provides strategic direction and national leadership of Australia’s education system – through early years, school, higher education and research. The Department conducted an assessment and recognizes IAU’s master degree, as an example, and deemed it as equivalent. Note that this is on a case-by-case basis and not all IAU graduates may receive the same result.

IAU is currently listed in the China Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE). Founded in 1989, the CSCSE is affiliated to the Ministry of Education (MOE), People’s Republic of China that supports scholarly exchange between China and other countries.
The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ), formerly the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation (HKCAA), is an independent statutory body to provide authoritative advice on academic standards of degree programmes in higher education institutions in Hong Kong. HKCAAVQ recognizes IAU’s degrees as equivalent.

In collaboration with UNESCO, IAU WHED Portal provides authoritative information on some 19,800 accredited Higher Education Institutions, Systems and Credentials in over 180 countries that meet WHED criteria. It is globally recognized as an official source of information. Each HEI listed in the WHED is identified with an unique identifier known as a Global WHED ID, which uniquely identifies each higher education institution listed in the WHED.

IAU is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) Sri Lanka. The UGC is the apex body of the University System in Sri Lanka which was established on 22nd December 1978 under the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978. The functions of the UGC are; planning and coordination of university education, allocation of funds to Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), maintenance of academic standards, regulation of the administration of HEIs and regulation of admission of students to HEIs.
